State Govt. adopts new method in Agriculture
Agartala, Nov 16 (UNI) To improve the agriculture in Tripura's North district the state government has adopted an innovative method of constructing Green House-cum-Rain Shelter (GHRS).
Official sources here today said more time, labour and money would be saved in this process as the Rain shelther would protect the crops during monsoon and winter.
The GHRS would help in restoring the seeds of the produced crops and sell it directly to the farmers during winters, sources said.
The method had been adopted from Asom's Jorhat based Agricultural University, the officials informed the newsmen.
Constructions of GRHS comes at an affordable price of Rs 14.57 thousand. At present about four families in the Kadamtala block under North District have been provided with the facility and 40 more is being constructed.
Different varieties of bamboos like Jai and Barak are used to construct thses GHRS, Agriculture department officials said.
