SEZ for IT to be set up at new capital of Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Nov 16 (UNI) A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Information Technology (IT) sector will be set up at 'Naya Raipur', the proposed new state capital of Chhattisgarh.
The 'Naya Raipur Development Authority' (NRDA) has invited expression of interest from developers interested in the project of information technology SEZ to be implemented on a public private partnership format.
NRDA chief executive officer S S Bajaj told UNI here that this SEZ would be built on the plug and play concept, providing IT companies with one of the most reliable and efficiently-managed infrastructure.
He said the IT SEZ would offer a mix of common facilities for the IT industry thereby reducing the initial capital cost of individual units. Developed plots would also be available for companies planning to set up their own hi-tech facilities in the SEZ.
Pointing out that about 100 acre of land area has been earmarked for IT SEZ in the close proximity of Mana airport, Mr Bajaj said an express way had also been planned to connect SEZ to the airport.
He said the SEZ would have all modern facilities required for IT sector, including office space, common infrastructure facilities and residential facilities.
The Chhattisgarh Government had decided to establish a modern, hi-tech, eco-friendly city, close to the present state capital, in the wake of growing demands for high quality infrastructure in the state. Naya Raipur will also serve as an administrative capital.
Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd is the strategic partner and advisor for the project development, promotion and bid process management of the project.
