School felicitates Manoj and Shaibaz for record feat
Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) The management of St Peter's High School here today felicitated Manoj Kumar and Md Shaibaz Tumbi in appreciation of their record breaking feat of posting an unbroken opening partnership of 721 runs in the Hyderabad Cricket Association's under-13 cricket league championship.
Manoj and Shaibaz bettered the standing record of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and his former India and Mumbai batting colleague Vinod Kambli, who had put on 664 runs, and also scored triple hundreds each, also in a first wicket stand.
Manoj and Shaibaz's unbroken partnership of 721-runs in 40 overs helped their school to post an impressive 700 run victory over St Phillips High School.
While Manoj scored 320 runs , Shaibaz made 324.
The two little-stars were felicitated by the management during the prayer time, to the thunderous applause of other students.
Little did the teen agers know they were breaking the world record established by Sachin Tendulkar (329 not out) and Vinod Kambli (349 not out) for the first wicket in 1988 in a Harris Shield semi-final match.
