Rupee opens higher by three paise at 45.31/33 per USD
Mumbai, Nov 16: The rupee today opened higher by three paise and was quoted at Rs 45.31/33 per US Dollar as compared to it's previous close of Rs 45.34 per USD, on account of fresh dollar demand by bankers, traders said.
Later, the domestic currency hiked to Rs 45.1350 per USD on account of short-covering by local dealers, and is now trading again at a low of 17 paise at Rs 45.17/18 per USD from it's previous close of 45.34/35, due to heavy buying of the dollar by the corporate sector and nationalised banks, forex dealers added.
