Agartala, Nov 16 (UNI) Tripura Governor Dinesh Nandan Sahaya has urged the Centre to increase the financial aid in the 11th five year plan and distribute it equally among the North Eastern states.

Addressing the 53rd North Eastern Council meeting at New Delhi yesterday Mr Sahaya said the NEC should distribute the budgetary allocation among the NE states for their overall development.

Mr Sahaya also urged the Centre to reconsider the existing 90:10 ratio of funds for NE states and said the NEC should act as a catalyst and facilitator for private investment in the region.

Frequent insurgency problems, that had jeopardized socio-economic development in the region, should be solved immediately, he added.
