Orissa youth gets 10-yrs imprisonment for raping minor girl

Surat, Nov 16 (UNI) A local court has sentenced a youth to 10-years imprisonment for raping a 13-year-old minor girl.

District and Sessions Judge I R Dave yesterday also fined Abhay Kumar Nursingh Pradhan Rs 4,000.

The accused fall in love with the minor girl while he was residing at Mahadev Nagar in Pandesara area in the city, five years ago.

Later, the youth took the girl to Noida in UP and Kedrapara in Orissa, where they lived for one and half years.

Meanwhile, the girl got pregnant and delivered a child. However, the accused and his brother forced the girl to return to her parents.

Pradhan was charged under sections 376 and 363 of the Indian Penal Code.
