North Bengal BSF IG suspended
Siliguri, Nov 16 (UNI) BSF Inspector General, North Bengal Frontier, Sriram Tewari, has been suspended with immediate effect, senior BSF official said today.
Mr Tewari suspended officer today rushed to New Delhi after the order he received in a fax message last night saying he should appear before the top officials of the paramilitary force in the headquarters.
BSF Director General A K Mitra today told UNI over telephone that there was ''some specific allegations'' against Mr Tewari.
After receiving such information, a departmental investigation was conducted. Recently the report was submitted by the investigating officer and forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
After examining the reports the Home Ministry decided to suspend the IPS officer with immediate effect.
Mr Mitra said one of the allegations was "misuse of office".
Tewari said the allegations were "baseless". ''I got an order letter yesterday, on the basis of that letter I start for headquarters, New Delhi'',he said.
