New Name, Status For Two Amrita Vidyalayas

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) The Mysore-based Amrita Shikshana Maha Vidyalaya and Amrita Maha Vidyalaya have been renamed and included under the ambit of Coimbatore-based Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, a Deemed to be University, it was announced today.

The announcement by the Human Resource Development Ministry said the government acted on the advice of the University Grants Commission.

Amrita Shikshana Maha Vidyalaya and Amrita Maha Vidyalaya are renamed respectively as Amrita School of Education and Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, the announcement said.
