JD(S) candidate to be announced tomorrow

Mysore, Nov 16 (UNI) Karnataka Housing and district incharge Minister D T Jayakumar today said Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Deve Gowda will announce the party candidate for the Chamundeshwari byelection tomorrow.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said that though the official candidate had been decided, it would be made public tomorrow after holding a final round of talks with the coalition partner BJP this evening. The BJP had extended its support to the JD(S) candidate.

Mr Jayakumar said former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had no moral right to accuse Mr Gowda and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of practicing family politics after joining the Congress, which had been reigning the country through one family.

Stating that he could not actively participate in the election process due to health grounds, he, however, said he would campaign for the party candidate.
