HP Chief Minister meets Karzai

Shimla, Nov 16 (UNI) The Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, today paid a courtesy call on Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, who is on a two-day visit to the state.

The Chief Minister welcomed the President to Himachal Pradesh and thanked him for visiting the state. He said that the people of the state, especially of Shimla town and HP University were proud that the Afghan President had studied here.

Mr Singh requested Mr Karzai to maintain the tradition of visiting Shimla in future as well.

Mr Karzai, shared his student days experiences with the Chief Minister and said that he always longed to visit the town and meet his old friends to revive his old memories. He also invited the Chief Minister to Afghanistan.
