Haj 2006 II subsidy scheme to benefit 1.1 lakh pilgrims: Govt
New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) The Cabinet today approved the government subsidy scheme for Haj 2006 II operations which would benefit about 110,000 pilgrims.
Announcing the decision taken at the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters that Indian Airlines and Air India would operate flights from Kolkata, Calicut, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Patna, Guwahati, Jaipur and Srinagar.
The movement of Haj pilgrims from India to Saudi Arabia would start later this month, he said.
