GSPC discovers crude oil in Dholka taluka of Ahmedabad
Gandhinagar, Nov 16 (UNI) Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) has succeeded in finding crude oil in second oil-well PK2-A/2, located near Ingoli village in Dholka taluka of Ahmedabad district.
The well will produce 1,200 to 1,400 barrels of crude oil per day, an official statement said here today.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi congratulated GSPC officials for their another grand success in crude-oil exploration mission of the State government.
The oil was found at the depth of 1,968 meters. Considering the present market price of curde oil, the found quota was estimated at about Rs 1,200 crore.
Earlier, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) had abandoned the drilling of this oil-well after unsuccessful attempt of drilling upto several hundred meters, the statement said.
GSPC had also found crude oil from another abandoned oil-well with capacity of 900-1,200 barrels per day, with total value of about Rs 800 crore, it added.
