Goa restricts Kerala for 198, Narvekar shines

Margao, Nov 16 (UNI) An impressive bowling spell by leg spinner Ganeshraj Narvekar (5 for 46) enabled host Goa bowl out Kerala for 198 on the first day of the three-day South Zone under 15 Polly Umrigar Trophy Cricket today.

Goa, in reply, were 20 for one in seven overs at the close of the play with Keenan Vaz not out seven and Damodar Pockle not out six were at the crease.

Goa after winning the toss put Kerala into bat. The visitors, who started badly were at one time 88 for six. Only C A Mathew's valuable 44, laced with six hit the fence. Ninth wicket partership of 55 runs between Manu Dev 26 and Ashwin Sharma 20 brought some honour to their total and were all out for 198 soon after tea.
