Four pilgrims killed in Car-Truck Collision
Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, Nov 16 (UNI) Four pilgrims from Bangalore, were killed and a two-year-old girl was injured in a head-on-collision on the National Highways early today.
Police here said the accident occurred when the car of a family of three members were proceeding to the Pillayarpatti Vinayagar temple, collided with a salt laden truck.
The victims died on the spot and the injured baby girl was rushed to a private hospital with injuries in the head.
Police have identified the deceased as G Ramamurthy (36) of Chamrajpetta, his wife Rani Chipla (28), S Stephen, their family friend, and the driver, N Nagalingaiah (28). The injured girl, Vanjitha, is the daughter of the deceased couple.
Jaisankar, the lorry driver, had alleged that the car driver was sleeping causing the accident.
Police have registered a case.
