Forest officials seize deer skin from cobbler

According to department sources, the officials received information that a cobbler on the Misson Street was stitching deer skin, following which a team went to the shop and seized it. It was three feet long and two feet broad.
On interrogation the cobbler said an 80 year old man had given the skin to him to stitch it and return it.
Meanwhile, Dy Conservator of Forest Devarajan told newspersons that keeping the skin of wild animals without licence was a crime and severe action would be initiated against them. Those who were having such illegal possession of skin should surrender it to the forest department, he added.
