DPM Textiles to extend its production facility

Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) DPM Textiles Limited will install 160 looms in their existing unit at Edlapadu in Guntur district for a total cost of Rs 332 crore in addition to the earlier investment of Rs 50 crore.

An official release here said DPM Textiles Limited Director M Prabhakara Rao and Industry and Commerce Department Secretary Y Srilakshmi today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard in the presence of the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

The expansion would generate direct employment to 3200 people and indirect employment to 10,000 people.

The company envisages to help farmers to produce cotton by supplying them seeds and other materials as well as extension services with buy-back guarantee for their produce.

The cotton requirement for this unit was estimated at 25,000 tonne per year, which would be grown in about 60,000 acres.

The State Government would provide necessary infrastructure facilities as per Textile and Apparel Promotion Policy, the release added.
