Cool weather continues in capital, Mercury drops to 28.2 degrees C
New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) Delhi's movement towards winter season continued today with the mercury level witnessing a sharp fall to 28.2 degrees Celsuis and the weathermen forecasting a fall in night temperature in the coming days.
Shallow fog and misty conditions continued to prevail in Delhi which saw the maximum temperature drop sharply from 29.8 degrees C yesterday to 28.2 degrees C today.
The minimum temperature too dropped to 14 degrees C, from 15 degrees C yesterday.
Meanwhile, mist and shallow fog continued to prevail in Delhi today and is likely to continue tomorrow as well.
The coming week could see a further movement towards winter with the weather office forecasting a drop in mercury from Sunday onwards.
Also, a fresh Western disturbance is likely to cause rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and showers in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab in the next few days, resulting in cool weather in the neighbouring plains.
Weathermen said that although the sky would remain largely clear during the next 24 hours, mist and shallow fog is likely to prevail. The minimum temperature is likely to remain at 14 degree C tomorrow.
