CM reviews financial condition of municipalities

Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed the general financial condition of the Municipalities in the state with special attention paid to the payment of salaries and pensions to the employees of Urban Local bodies.

Municipal Administration Secretary apprised the Chief Minister of the prevailing status of budgetary grants.

It was decided that Municipal Administration Department would workout on a proposal for one time budgetary support in the forthcoming year's budget in order to wipe out the dues of salaries and pensions of all the municipality employees.

Dr Reddy also reviewed the water supply scheme of Hindupur Municipality as well as the Industrial Local Area (Autonagar) with officials concerned.

It was decided that the tenders for the water supply scheme for Hindupur would be called immediately and extra cost would be shared between Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Deparment.
