Chouhan defends minister, says media blowing up issue

Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, Nov 16 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today defended Tribal Minister Vijay Shah in connection with being seen along with an accused in a criminal case during a programme.

Talking to reporters here today, Mr Chouhan said media was unnecessarily blowing up the issue.

He said Mr Shah was seen with a person during a programme at central jail but the Minister had no idea that he was an accused in a criminal case.

Moreover, that person was an accused and had not been convicted by the court.

He pointed that several people were found near leaders but it does not mean that the leader gave them protection.

Earlier, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress on the implementation of various announcements made by him for the district headquarters.

Culture Minister and district incharge minister Laksmikant Sharma and senior officers were present.
