China destabilising India through support to Maoist terror: VHP
New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) Ahead of Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to India, the VHP today cautioned the government against Chinese designs on Indian territory and plans to destablise the country through Maoist rebels.
Addressing mediapersons VHP leader Ashok Singhal today said Maoist militants were working at the behest of the Chinese, who had a Maoist ideology, to create instability in India and ''we should be cautious.'' ''China is creating terror in India by helping the Maoists naxals, who have established their vice grip on nearly 150 districts.'' Chinese support to Maoist terror has helped them spread their tentacles to several states besides emboldening them to carry out violent attacks at will in recent times, he said.
Stressing that the Communist neighbour was not trustworthy, Mr Singhal claimed China had grabbed Indian land in the past and continues to have 'designs' even today.
''Their expansionist designs were evident from the fact that just a couple of days back they claimed entire Arunachal Pradesh to be theirs. Prior to that they had said Nepal was part of Tibet, hence theirs.'' This was a dangerous attitude which needs to be kept in mind while dealing with them, he said.
''Our stand is that Tibet does not belong to China and must be returned to the Dalai Lama.'' Condeming the government's move to extend reservation to Muslims, the VHP leader said this was a move to eat into the 'Hindu' pie.
''Even the Constitution does not permit reservation on religious lines.'' He also informed that the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the VHP was being held to discuss preparations for the forthcoming 'Ardhkumbh' in Prayag (Allahabad) early next year and added that another meet would be held to sort out who would build the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in view of Dwarka Shankaracharya Swaroopanand making moves to 'hijack' the movement.
