Chemical tanker plunges into Bhakra canal, water contaminated
Sangrur, Nov 16 (UNI) A tanker carrying hazardous chemicals today fell into the main Bhakra canal at Nadampur village leading to the death of its driver and the water getting contaminated.
The authorities concerned sounded a red alert against the consumption of the canal water in the nearby villages after six divers, who had jumped into the canal to pull out the tanker, went uncouscious.
The truck, carrying the chemical from Muzaffarnagar to Bathinda, was fished out.
Some fishes were also found floating dead over the canal water after the incident.
