Centre examining UP Governor's report
New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) The controversy over Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav alleging that Governor T V Rajeswar has recommended dismissal of his government took a new turn today with the Centre admitting that it has received a report from the Governor.
''We have received the monthly report from the Governor,'' Home Secretary V K Duggal said here.
Asked whether the Governor has recommended dimissal of the state government on the basis of breakdown of law and order machinery, he said, ''We are yet to examine the report.'' However, he parried a question about whether the Centre was considering to impose President's rule in the state.
Earlier, the Governor had categorically denied the Chief Minister's charge that Raj Bhavan has sent a report recommending dismissal of the Samajwadi Party government in the state.
The Governor had issued the denial yesterday after Mr Yadav had accused the Governor of sending such a report at the ''behest of the Congress, the BJP and BSP who are in league with one another to demand dismissal of his government.'' Mr Yadav had warned the Centre that any attempt to dismiss his government would prove to be a 'misadventure.' UNI AJ YA RAI1852
