Dhaka, Nov 16 (UNI) Bangladesh Election Commissioner Mahmud Hasan Mansur's residence in the city came under several rounds of gunshots early today, but no one was purportedly hurt.
Police said gunmen fired 5 to 6 rounds from shotguns that struck the sentry box and the wall of his residence at Mohammadpur at about 0530 hrs local time. Police officers found 11 marks of gunshots on the sentry box and wall.
However no one was injured, the police said. Additional police force has been posted outside the residence after the incident.

EC Mansur none-the-less attended office today.
The Awami League, led 14-party alliance of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has been demanding resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Aziz and three Election Commissioners for holding free and fair general elections.
The CEC and other Commissioners were appointed by the previous government headed by Khaleda Zia. The opposition alleges the election commissioners are biased towards Khaleda Zia's party.
Despite the widespread demand, the CEC and his colleagues have refused to demit office.
