Advinus to triple its headcount at both sets of operations

Mumbai, Nov 16 (UNI) Post strategic alliance with Meck, the Tatas- backed Advinus said here today that it would triple its headcount for the new venture.

Talking to media after the formal announcement of the drug discovery collaboration that Advinus has reached with Merck in the area of metabolic disorders here today, Tata Sons Ltd Executive Director R Gopalakrishnan said ''We're all set to increase our manpower three times than that of our present strength for the new venture.'' While 65 persons are working at the Pune facility of Advinus currently, the Bangalore facility employs nearly 230 persons.

However, Mr Gopalakrishnan said that the number of persons would go up to 150 at Pune while there will be 400 persons at the Bangalore facility within next couple of years.

He made it clear that a majority of recruitments would be undertaken in the field of scientific operations.
