12,900 MW projects to start mid 2007, Govt
New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) The government today said power projects of about 12,900 MWs would be commissioned by next year between March and November.
Ministry of Power will facilitate coal linkage, coal blocks and environment clearance for State and Private Projects, Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said.
''Gas supply should be a priority for existing Stations and those getting commissioned,'' Mr Shinde said at the State Power Minister's meet here.
He said new capacity additions will be planned tying up Gas Agreement.
Ministry of Power will continue to dynamically allocate unallocated quota to address the periodic shortage of power within the limited capacity that is available under this Head.
Power Finance Corporation, PFC, Rural Electrification Corporation, (REC) will prepare plans of funding for every State in consultation with them.
Power Grid will assist States in assessing their transmission needs.
NTPC will continue to assist states in improvement of PLF which is direct benefit like capacity addition, the Minister said.
