Yediyurappa conferred 'Gurukarunya' award in Mandya

Mandya, Nov 15 (UNI) The Basava Samithi of the district today conferred Gurukarunya award on Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for his services to the State.

The award was presented by nonagenarian seer Sri Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Math.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Yediyurappa said the Government would celebrate the birth centenary of Sri Shivakumara Swamiji, who had tirelessly served the poor for eight decades by providing them education and shelter, in a grand manner in Bangalore next year at an expense of Rs five crore.
