Woman dies after paramour throws acid, forces her to drink it

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) A 35-year-old woman died after her paramour threw acid on her in Punjabi Bagh area of West Delhi this morning, as well as forced her to drink it.

Sources said Suman, a mother of three, died after she was forced to drink acid by her paramour Umesh.

She was later rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Neigbours said Suman has eloped with Umesh two years ago but returned to her husband some six months back. But Umesh kept pestering her to return, which she did not agree to.

Today he once again came and threatened her to accompany him which she refused. Infuriated at the refusal Umesh first threw acid on her face and them thrust acid into her mouth, leading to her death.

Umesh fled the scene soon after.

Suman is surived by her husband Nagendra, a junk dealer, two sons and a daughter.

Police said efforts were on to nab the accused.
