Woman commits suicide in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 15 (UNI) A woman committed suicide allegedly due to strained relations with her in-laws in Kashmir, official sources said today.

They said Taaja Begum, the mother of three children, committed suicide at Zoonipora in Chadoora area of central Kashmir district of Badgam yesterday. Her family later alleged that she was compelled to take the extreme step by her in-laws.

Taaja Begum got married to Manzoor Ahmed Dar seven years ago and since then she was allegedly harassed by her in-laws, particularly by her mother-in-law and brother in-law.

Taaja Begum consumed some poisonous substance and was immediately rushed to a hospital where she died during the night.
