Wockhardt MD's arrest demanded
Tirupati, Nov 15(UNI) The Tirupati unit of the Andhra Pradesh medical and sales representative union today demanded that the state government must arrest Managing Director of Wockhardt pharmacutical Company for allegedly selling '' spurious insulin''in the market.
Addressing a press conference the Union General Secretary K N N Prasad Rao charged that the company was selling spurious diabetis drug ''wosuling'' for a long time in the market, eventhough it was harmful to health.
He also urged the Tirupati RDO to seize the drug, which was already released in the market.
Meanwhile, two batches of '' spurious insulin '' collected by medical representatives yesterday from the people who had purchased it unknowingly, were handed over to Revenue Divisional Officer here.
According to drug inspector Suresh Babu, two batches of the insulin supplied to stockists in Tirupati and Madanapalle, were found to be spurious.
