TVS E launches MSP printers
Chennai, Nov 15 (UNI) TVS Electronics, a leader in the IT peripherals market in India, today launched its first range of MSP printers with built-in UNICODE support for nine Indian languages.
The printers with languages Devnagari, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Oriya, Bengali and Punjabi, enhanced the compatibility and performance for language computing and printing.
A company release said here the printers were targeted at various government departments which would require multi-lingual printing tasks for internal circulars, memos, citizen transaction statements like land records, birth and death certificates, FIR, besides educational institutions and research departments, the printers were designed for improved reliability and performance of these applications.
The MSP 450 Champion and MSP 455 XLC models of printers, priced at Rs 10,000 and Rs 13,000 respectively, incorporated with the UNICODE standard, were available in both 80 column and 136 column printing to meet the various customer needs.
These models also had a speed capability of 360 cps (characters per second) and 400 cps, with an ability to print at 250 cps in Indian languages.
Announcing the launch, Head-Marketing TVS-E, S Narendran said "with the increase in IT penetration covering even small towns and villages in the country, language applications have increasingly become the order of the day".
The launch of these printers was a strategic move to ensure that we would leverage the growth in language applications with our basket of language solutions, he added.
With the launch of the MSP printers, TVS-E expected to add additional five per cent to its market share in the dot matrix printer segment, he explained.
