Three persons burnt alive in road accident

Chitradurga, Nov 15: Three persons were burnt alive and another sustained serious injuries when two trucks collided head-on and caught fire at the Bangalore-Pune National Highway this morning.

According to police sources the mishap occurred at about 0515 hrs when a truck carrying Tyres hit another transport carrier truck in the outskirts of the town.

Due to the impact of the collision both the trucks caught fire.

Three persons including drivers of the both the vehicles were burnt alive in the incident and another sustained serious burns injuries.

The injured was admitted to the general hospital and is reportedly in serious condition. While one of the trucks belongged to VRL transports, the other carrying tyres of TVS company is yet to be identified. The incident brought the traffic on an otherwise busy Bangalore-Pune national highway to a grinding halt for over three hours, the sources added.
