Thermax investing Rs 175 cr set up mfg unit in Gujarat

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Thermax Ltd, a global solution provider of energy and engineering, today said it is in the process of investing Rs 175 crore to set up a manufacturing unit at Savli in Gujarat.

It has been learnt that the proposed unit will cater to the boilers and heaters segment.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 35.08 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, as against Rs 25.31 crore for the same quarter last year.

The company's total income stood at Rs 491.05 crore for the quarter as against Rs 311.43 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company said the results for the corresponding periods for the earlier year are not comparable with those of the current period as the latter include the results of its wholly-owned amalgamated subsidiaries, Thermax Babcock&Wilcox Ltd and Thermax Capital Ltd.
