Teledata inks deal with MP govt; plans to invest Rs 150 cr
New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Teledata Informatics Ltd today said it has signed an agreement with the government of Madhya Pradesh to provide rural wireless broadband connectivity with the support of Motorola, and proposed to invest Rs 150 crore to set up telecom infrastructure in the state.
The company proposed to set up a continuum of telecom infrastructure IT applications and distribution systems for providing an effective solution to improve the general life in rural areas of the state, a company statement said.
In the first phase, the company will be establishing an SPV (Specific Project Venture) in the state and an operating hub in Bhopal to undertake this project.
The company also proposed to establish infrastructure to provide connectivity at selected points in Bhopal and about 200 points in rural areas.
This phase will also include development of complete ecosystem of IT applications, services and logistics.
According to the agreement, the villages would be connected to the district head quarters and Bhopal through wireless broadband connectivity, with an expected revenue of Rs 60 crore per year.
The expected time to make the first phase operational is six months from the date of signing the MoU.
