Swayamsevaks should join non-BJP parties to reform them: RSS
New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh approved of its swayamsevaks joining non-BJP parties and reforming them from within, according to senior functionary RSS Madan Das Devi today.
''The swayamsevaks are free to join any party, whether the BJP or not. We have no control over their political behaviour,'' he said while addressing a function organised to celebrate the birth centenary of second sar sanghchalak late Guru Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar.
He said the RSS favored its swayamsevaks joining organisations and parties other than the BJP and making them ''cultured'' from within.
The RSS only prohibited its full time workers from accepting any post in a political party, he said, adding that even the BJP had only 30 per cent of RSS' full time workers.
''The BJP is a natural party for our swayamsevaks, being the only party which does not call the RSS communal...It earns the BJP respect among swayamsevaks,'' he added.
Mr Devi reiterated the outfit's opposition to politicisation of Dalits' entry into temples, strongly defending their right to access to places of worship.
