Shiv Sena burns Rani Mukherjee's posters
Varanasi, Nov 15 (UNI) A day after its breakway faction -- Kranti Shiv Sena (KSS) -- burnt posters of Rani Mukherjee, the Shiv Sena today followed suit at the Manikarnika Ghat to protest the Bollywood actor's alleged misconduct with the media.
The Sena activists led by district president Gulshan Kapoor this evening burnt the posters of the 'Khandala Girl' on funeral pyres lit at the Manikarnika Ghat, the mytholigically famous cremation ground.
Raising anti-Rani Mukherjee slogans, the Sainiks have also threatened to intensify their protest if the Bollywood beauty did not apologise to the media she had rudely behaved with, here on Monday evening.
''Media is the fourth and most important pillar of Indian democracy and any kind of misconduct with this sacred institution will be protested vehemently by the Sena,'' Mr Kapoor said.
Yesterday, the KSS -- a breakway faction of the Shiv Sena -- had burnt posters of Rani and carried out a mock funeral of the entire shooting crew of the Yash Raj banner film at the Harishchandra Ghat.
Two Bollywood beauties -- Rani Mukherjee and Konkona Sen -- are in the city alongwith the film crew led by the director of Parineeta, Pradeep Sarkar to shoot for Yash Raj banner's upcoming flick 'Choodiyan', also starring Abhishek Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.
