Seven militants killed in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 15: Seven militants were killed by security forces in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.

They said troops on a specific information conducted search operation at Warsu Lolab in the frontier district of Kupwara late last night to nab militants. However, when the troops were sealing the area, militants attacked them with automatic weapons and also hurled hand grenades. Troops also retaliated and in the fierce clash four militants were killed. Four A K Rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.

In a joint operation Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces killed two militants at Cherwani Gulgam early this morning. The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants.

Another militant was killed in a similar operation at Magam, Handwara in north Kashmir.
