''Salabamela'' to open tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 15 (UNI) Thousands of tiny tots from all the 14 districts of Kerala would take part in the sixth "Salabhamela", which will take off here tomorrow with various cultural programmes.

Th children would compete with each other in 48 events, to be organised at six venus, Organising Committe Chairman M R Thampan told reporters here.

Congress leader and former Member of Parliament V M Sudheeran will inaugurate the mela, organised by the ''Deseeya Balatharangam'', he said.

The winners would be honoured with trophies named after Prof Guptan Nair, Prof Ayyappa Panicker, Devarajan Master, Brahmanandan, Prof Narendra Prasad, Padmini, Sreevidya, Sainudeen and N F Varghese, he added.

The mela would be part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the formation of Kerala, he said.
