Rs 84 crore international level stadium in Lucknow

Lucknow, Nov 15 (UNI) To provide professional edge to sportspersons in Uttar Pradesh, the government will construct an international level stadium in Lucknow at a cost of Rs 84 crore.

The proposed stadium in Khujauli village of Mohanlal Ganj tensil will be spread over an area of 84 bighas, UP sports and youth welfare miniter R K Chaudhary said here today.

He was visiting the proposed stadium site along with concerned officials.

The minister also made certain changes in its design and directed the officials to prepare the layout at the earliest, so that things get rolling at a faster pace for his dream project.

''The stadium would conform to the international standards and parameters,'' the minister informed on the occasion.

While, the indoor hall of the proposed stadium will have a seating capacity of 5,000 people, the outer ring of the arena will have the maximum capacity of accomodating 20,000 spectators at a time.

Besides, the stadium will boast of a swimming pool and lodging for sportspersons.
