Rs 2 cr steel jetty inaugurated in Goa
Panaji, Nov 15 (UNI) Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane today inaugurated a Rs two crore steel jetty near the Kala Academy, where the 37th edition of the International Film Festival of India will be held from November 23.
''We plan to build more jetties to promote tourism at different places in due course and take care of the their maintenance,'' Mr Rane told mediapersons in presence of Chief Secretary J B Singh and Entertainment Society of Goa's CEO Nandini Paliwal besides the Academy vice chairman Jitendra Deshprabhu.
All the main delegates, to be accomodated in Taj group of hotels in Sinquerim would be brought by special ferry boats to the jetty for a red carpet welcome to the Kala Academy, he added.
The jetty was built with steel on piles with wooden flooring jutting into the sea where the vessels could be berthed after ferrying the delegates.
The project was undertaken by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
