RJD to field candidate for bypoll
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 15 (UNI) The Rashtriya Janata Dal will field its candidate for the Thiruvambadi bypoll against the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), its state President T S Balakrishnan said today.
Both the Fronts had lost their ideologies and were encouraging ''fundamentalism'' in Malabar region, he alleged at a news conference here.
The RJD would fight both the Fronts and teach them a lesson, he added.
Alleging that both the Fronts were trying to gain political mileage in the elections through false propaganda, he said the people would realise that the ideologies and policies of both the Fronts were outdated.
He demanded the CPI(M) to clarify their stand towards the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the bypoll, in the wake of the DIC(K)'s merger with that party.
