Punjab Police SI guns down father-in-law

Ferozpur, Nov 15 (UNI) A Punjab Police sub-inspector (SI) gunned down his father-in-law and injured two others in Malout in this district today, police here said.

According to reports, SI Ravi Khera was infuriated after his second wife Paramjit, who had gone to her parents home in Malout, decided to go for an abortion. The alleged accused went to the house of his in-laws and when his father-in-law Kundan opened the door, he opened fire from his service revolver and killed the father-in-law on the spot.

He then fired upon his brother-in-law, Jaswinder and sister-in-law, Gurmit and injured them seriously. He then tried to kill his second wife but she managed to escape.

The police has registered a case of murder against the SI who is absconding.The two injured persons have been admitted to a hospital in Muktsar.
