Power crisis in UP after Anpara units fail

Robertsganj, Nov 15 (UNI) A major power crisis erupted in Uttar Pradesh today after all the five units of Anpara Thermal Power Project failed to generate electricity.

According to Anpara Project Chief General Manager K K Saxena, there is also danger of the breakdown of the northern grid due to the emergent situation.

The two 500 megawatt units of Anpara A and three 210 megawatt units of Anpara B belong to Uttar Pradesh State Power Corporation.

The production came to a naught in the five units due a fire in the generator of the 132 kv line of the Pipri Hydro Power Corporation unit.

Meanwhile, efforts were on to repair the fault.
