Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence visiting Kochi
Kochi, Nov 15 (UNI) The Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on Defence with Balasaheb Vikhe Patil as Chairman arrived here today on a two-day visit to various Defence units at Kochi.
The committee would make an on-the-spot study of 'Modernisation of Armed Forces' and 'Human Resource Policy and Manpower Planning', an official release said.
RAdm Rajender Singh, Chief of Staff and Commodore P E Vanhaltren of the Southern Naval Command received the delegation at the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbaserry.
During its stay at Kochi, the committee would be given a presentation on the Southern Naval Command.
The members would witness practical demonstrations of facilities available in professional training schools in the Naval Base, the air squadrons of INS Garuda and also visit the Naval Aircraft Yard and Cochin Shipyard Limited, before leaving for Bangalore on November 17.
