Mumbai and Tamil Nadu bag two points in drawn matches
Jamshedpur, Nov 15 (UNI) Mumbai and Tamil Nadau earned two points each on the basis of first innings lead against Punjab and Maharashtra respectively on the concluding day of their three-day Cooch Behar trophy (U-19)elite group A matches here today.
Resumed at overnight score of 279 for six Mumbai were all out for 337,taking the first innings lead of 117 runs.
Anup Revendkar,who was not out on 73 runs overnight,hit a century (100) with the help of nine fours.A Rahane also scored a fine 97 runs yesterday and was unlucky not to reach the three-figure mark.
For Punjab Karanveer Singh returned with five-wicket haul while Sumit Kaliya scalped four wickets.
Punjab managed to score 177 for four in their second innings with Ravinder Singh scored 72 while Gurkirat Singh remained not out on 77.
Pacer Dhaval Kulkarni bagged all the four wickets of Punjab giving away 61 runs.
Mumbai opened their accounts with two points as Maharashtra got first innings lead in the opening match, while Punjab trounced Uttarpradesh in the first macth but could not win due to bad weather and had to content with two points.
Both Mumbai and Maharashtra got two points from two matches.
In the other match Tamil Nadu took 161 runs first innings lead as they were all out for 366 in reply to Maharashtra's 205 all out.
Resuming on overnight 316 for five,Tamil Nadu lost remaining five wickets for 50 runs.K G Gopinath, who was one short of his half-century overnight, scored 61, while other not out batsman K Martin Sanjeev scored 38.
N Paradkar and S Yadav shared three and two wickets sparing 46 and 74 runs respecivley.
Maharashtra were 170 for two in their second eassy as the openers Pravin Deshetty (79) and Harshad Khadiwale (50) hit half centuries.
Tamil Nadu opened accounts with two points while Maharastra failed to earn point after bagging two points in the previous match versus Mumbai.
