Mahindra Holidays launches 'Zest' for young metropolitans

Chennai, Nov 15 (UNI) Mahindra Holidays and Resorts Ltd (MHRL), India's leading lifetime holiday company, today announced the launch of 'Zest', involving investment of Rs 350 to Rs 400 crore, an ideal short break holiday for young metropolitans.

Designed after extensive research by IDEO, the world's leading consumer experience design firm, 'Zest' offered a unique work-life balance proposition to the ambitious, hardworking, achieving, but stressed-out young metropolitans, said Mr Arun Nanda, Chairman, MHRL, addressing a press conference here.

Zest resorts were being set up at destinations easily accessible from cities to enable metropolitans to take a drive and enjoy a short break holiday, he said.

He said three resorts were under construction in Puducherry, Ooty and Kodaikanal and they would be ready by the end of this year or early next year. Zest had been launched on a Pan- India basis and in the next three to five years, 15 more resorts would be built.

Zest is a ten-year membership product and would provide six nights per year to members. Membership was priced at Rs 69,000 (lean season) Rs 89,000 (mid season) and Rs 1,29,000 (peak season). The resorts would also be available for 'walk-in customers'.

He said MHRL, which had completed ten years after launching Club Mahindra Holidays, a lifetime holiday brand, had 45,000 members and was growing at 60 per cent. The company earned total revenue of Rs 220 crore during 2005-06, he added.
