KAT opens its first franchise centre in Jaipur

Jaipur, Nov 15 (UNI) Keeping pace with the growing demand for trained manpower in the travel and tourism industry, Kuoni Academy of Travel (KAT) in collaboration with the Maharaj Jai Singh of Jaipur has launched its first franchise centre in the Pink City today.

This is the sixth centre of the institute.

KAT has centres in cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Banglaore, Hydrabad, and Chennai.

Managing Director of SMS Investment Corporation Maharaj Jai Singh said there exist a wide gap between the demand of the industry and the avialability of skilled and trained manpower in the travel and tourism sector.

He added tourism and travel industry is one of the largest and fastest growing industry and the main driver of the economy today offering huge employment opportunites to the youth.

Speaking on the occassion Mr Zubin Karkaria, CEO and managing director, India and South Asia, Kouni Travels India Pvt Ltd said Kuoni Academy of Travel (KAT) is an endeavour of the company, which is the market leader in all the segments of travel with brands such as SOTC, SITA in its protfolio.

The company employs over 2100 personnel across India. It is a wholly -owned subsidiary of the 3.5 billion dollars Swiss travel agent Kouni Travel group.

He said the courses opened for immediate enrolment in Jaipur centre are Kuoni Airline Diploma and Coaching for IATA/UFTAA foundation course.

Mr Karkaria added Kuoni integrated post- graduate diploma in travel and tourism management and Kuoni integrated diploma in travel and tourism management would be launched shortly.

KAT would also open its franchise centres in Dubai and China in the immediate future, he said.
