Justice Krishna Iyer turns 92

Kochi, Nov 15 (UNI) The 'grand old man' of Indian jurisprudence, Justice V R Krishna Iyer turned 92 today and received greetings from a number of well wishers and admirers, who visited him at the Medical Trust Hospital here.

On the occasion, Kerala High Court Chief Justice V K Bali released a book in Konkani titled 'Vishwa Vikhyatha Justice V R Krishna Iyer Satakam,' along with an English version.

Lauding his contribution when in the Supreme Court, Justice Bali released the book, a poem in 100 verses, written by N Purushothama Mallaya, the secretary of the Konkani Bhasha Prachar Sabha.

Earlier in the day, Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams, Deputy Mayor M S Iyer and several High Court judges visited the hospital to greet Justice Krishna Iyer.

He has been in hospital for a hairline fracture on his right arm and a spinal injury suffered after slipping and falling in his house.
