Indian Navy, Western Railway record contrasting win in Nehru hockey

Western Railway had to wait till the 30th minute to open their account through Jayesh but that opened the floodgates and Amarjeet Singh buttressed the lead at the stroke of breather as they went into the lemon break with a two-goal cushion.
Three minutes into the second half and Jayesh came up with a two-goal burst to make it 4-0 before the Railwaysmen relaxed a bit.
Barely 10 minutes and the Shahdara citadel crumbled again when Hardeep Singh sounded the board and Shakti Thakur rounded off the tally in the 58th minute to complete a whitewash.
Indian Navy, however, ran into troubled water and weathered some torrid moments before edging out ONGC XI via tie-breaker.
SB Gorde, AK Kiro and Kartar Singh scored for the Navy side, while ONGC men Surender Singh's brace and Amit Srivastava's conversion of a penalty stroke saw the match end 3-3 at regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Sajit Lakra, AK Kiro, SB Gorde and S Chaudhary were bang on target for Indian Navy. In contrast, only Pramod Kumar and Sunder Singh scored for ONGC while teammates Amit Srivastava and Arun Rawat failed in their efforts.
