Import of pulses stood at 48,207 tonnes

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) The import of pulses by NAFED till the first week of this month stood at 48,207 tonnes comprising 35,280 tonnes of urad and 12,927 tonnes of moong, as against a total contracted quantity of 49,300 tonnes of pulses comprising 37,000 tonnes of urad and 12,300 tonnes of moong of Myanmar origin.

NAFED has arranged disposal of 33,564 tonnes of urad and 7,118 tonnes of moong in Chennai, Gulbarga, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Indore, Kanpur, Akola and Jaipur, an official statement said today.

The sale prices of urad varied from Rs 33.48 per kg in Chennai to Rs 36.57 per kg in Delhi. The average sale price of moong was Rs 29.36 per kg ranging from Rs 28.4 in Delhi to Rs 31.55 in Indore, it added.
