Hunger strike by AGP
Guwahati, Nov 15 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today staged a hunger strike in front of their central party office demanding resignation of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, accusing him of ''all round failure'' in running the state.
The hunger strike was led by AGP president Brindabon Goswami and almost the entire party leadership was present in the day long strike.
The AGP blamed the Congress for ''completely failing'' to protect the life of ordinary people. It also alleged that corruption in all sectors had alienated the government from the people.
On the ULFA front, they demanded the Centre take the right initiative for starting the peace process without any delay. They also alleged that the army had been harassing people in upper Asom in the name of finding out ULFA rebels.
